University of Allahabad: If you not interested in BA and B.Sc Courses, do B.Voc
B.Voc may be a better option for students who do not want to do BA, B.Sc and B.Com. B.Voc means Bachelor of Vocation. Its degree is also valid in the same way as B.A, B.Sc and B.Com. The University of Allahabad and its affiliated Yuing Christian College (ECC) as well as Ishwar Sharan Degree College and Hamidia Girls Degree College offer B.Voc courses.
Degree is valid like BA-B.Sc.
Like BA, B.Sc and B.Com, B.Voc is a three-year degree course. On August 3, 2016, a letter was issued by the UGC, clearing the confusion surrounding this degree. The then UGC Secretary, Prof. Jaspal S Sandhu had said through this letter that B.Voc has the same importance as a graduate in jobs as it has been recognized as a degree course under section 22 (3) of the UGC Act 1956. Its degree holders can join the recruitment on behalf of other recruitment institutions including Union Public Service Commission, State Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, in which the educational qualification is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. This letter can be seen on the UGC website.
