About Guru Ghasidas University
Guru Ghasidas University is one among the total Central Universities in India is strategically located at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh state, India and is established under the Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009. The University was having its presence from the year 1983 and was called as Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), established by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly. The Guru Ghasidas University is accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities as well.
The Honorable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee is the Visitor of the University and Padma Shree Prof. (Dr.) N. R. Madhava Menon is the Chancellor and Prof. S. P. Singh is the Vice Chancellor of the University. The Administration team consist of the Visitor, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Executive Council, Academic Council, Deans and HODs.

The University building includes Academic Complex, Computer Centre, Hostels for boys and girls, Administrative wing, Guest house, Forestry complex known as Aranya Sadan, Warden Quarters, Staff quarters. V.C. Lodge, Registrar’s Bungalow and Buildings for Management Institute, Institute of Technology, Pharmacy, Vishwavidyalaya Library, other university teaching departments.
