How to Make a Career in the Indian Air Force
Candidates who want to join Indian Air Force can apply for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCTC), Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCTC) by joining any of the Flying, Technical or Ground Duty Branch of Indian Air Force. After passing the entire process related to the entry of Indian Air Force, you will be trained in the respective branch and after that the deployment will be given. In addition to the written examination under the admission process, there will be intelligence test, group test, interview and medical. Only after passing them, the selection of the applicant will be considered fixed. Applicants can do till 30 June.
What are the Indian Air Force Courses
The courses to be given entry through AFCTC are as follows
Flying Branch – Both men and women can apply for short service commission in this brand.
Technical Branch – Permanent commission for men and short service commission for both men and women.
Ground Duty Branch – Permanent commission for this branch is for men. Short service commission is for both men and women, you have to fill the branch by filling the form.
Commission means
These courses of the Indian Air Force have a provision for Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission.
Permanent Commission – Under this commission, the person who starts the service works till retirement.
Short Service Commission – The service remains 14 years under this commission. In Technical and Ground Duty this period is initially 10 years although this period can be extended later.
What is merit
The courses for which applications have been sought in Indian Air Force are from different branch. The mandatory qualifications for these also vary. They are as follows
Flying branch
The applicant was born from 2 July 1991 to 1 July 1997.
Applicant must have graduated with at least 60%.
Have studied Physics and Maths in 12th standard.
Technical branch
Same age range
12% marks in Physics and Maths with 60% marks.
Four years Graduation in Engineering or Integrated Post Graduation.

Ground Duty Branch
The applicant was born from 2 July 1991 to 1 July 1997.
Applicant must have done a course in graduation / B.com/MBA/MA/MCA/CS/IT/Journalism.
How will the selection
Indian Air Force has a complete process to enter these courses. Under this, first you have to take the written examination AFCTC. The Technical Branch will have to give the Engineering Knowledge Test. EKT will be conducted for AFCTC right after. After passing these exams, you will have to appear before the Airforce Selection Board. Your intelligence test will be taken under the first step. Psychological test, group test and interview will be conducted under the second phase. There are separate related tests for Flying Branch. After all these medical tests will be done, only then the selection will be completed.

Training of Branches
Applicants selected for these courses of Indian Airforce will be given full training before their appointment. This training will be started from the first week of July 2017. The training period for Flying and Training Branch people has been set at 74 weeks, while ground duty training is 52 weeks.
