Eligibility Criteria for IBPS (RRB) Officers Scale I, II, and III
Abbreviated for Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection, IBPS conducts its Common Written Test for Regional Rural Banks every year. This is one of the several bank exams that are carried out by IBPS. The candidates who are well thought-out for appearing in the examinations are obligatory to gratify few norms and regulations to apply for the vacancies of the officers. The eligibility criteria for these exams are:
- Nationality of the candidate
Candidates are required to possess the nationality of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1st 1962 with the purpose of eternally staying in the country. A person who belongs to India and now has migrated from countries like Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, and Vietnam and are planning to settle permanently in India are also eligible for the post. A person who fulfills any of the above criteria is required to provide a certificate of eligibility issued by Indian Government in favor of the candidate.
- Age limit of the candidate
For Officer Scale III: The candidates who are above the age of 21 years and lower than the age of 40 years are eligible for applying. The candidate should not have born prior to 03-07-1975 and later than 30-06-1994 (both dates included) for being eligible for the post.
For officer scale II: The candidates who are above 21 years of age and lower than 32 years can apply for the job. They should not have born earlier than 03-07-1983 and later than 30-06-1994 (both dates included).
For officer scale I: The candidates who are above 18 years of age and lower than 30 years can apply for this post. They must have born before 03-07-1985 and later than 30-06-1967 (both dates included).
- Age relaxation
- SC/ST candidates are allowed an age relaxation of 5 years.
- OBC candidates are given an age relaxation of 3 years.
- PWD candidates are permitted an age relaxation of 10 years.
- In case of ex-servicemen commissioned officers which includes ECOs, SSCOs those who have delivered military services of 5 years and have completed all the assignments are given an age relaxation of 5 years.
- Candidates domiciled in J&K during period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989 are given an age relaxation of 5 years.
- Educational qualifications
For officer scale III: Candidates must possess degree in any discipline with minimum 50% of aggregate and an experience of 5 years. Applicants having degree in banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, economics, and accountancy will be preferred.
For officer scale II: Candidates having degree from recognized university in electronics/communication/computer science/information technology/chartered accountant/ law/ marketing/agriculture or equivalent with minimum 50% of aggregate and two years of experience are eligible.
For officer scale I: candidates must possess degree in any discipline from a recognized university having proficiency in local language and computer will be preferred. Preference will be given to candidates having degree in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, forestry, agriculture marketing, information technology, management, law, economics and accountancy.
