computational chemistry; Applicant should have specialization in physical chemistry in Master Degree and should have studied Mathematics as ancillary subject in Bachelor Degree plus have Minimum of four years Post-doctoral experience.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600 – 39100 + Grade Pay `6600

About Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research was incorporated in the year 1971. After Bhabha Atomic Research this is the second largest centre of the Atomic Energy Department. The centre is located at Kalpakkam. This is certainly section of the second stage of Indian Atomic Energy Programme, that could be geared toward organizing the country for usage of the considerable Thorium reserves and giving way to fulfil the huge needs of electrical power in 21st century.
The main objective of the Centre is the new starting which was made by a sodium cooled reactor which is known as Fast Breeder Test Reactor and to conduct broad based multidisciplinary program of the scientific research and also in an advance engineering which is help towards the growth of the reactor. On 18th October 1985, the reactor attained its 1st desperation. The centre had started with many facilities which is related with many technology, Metallurgy and material, chemical of fuels and its material, control and instrumentation etc.
In the year 1976, a program was performed called Reprocessing Development Laboratory was created in at the beginning seventies along with the authorizing of non-active amenities. In the year 1980 the plutonium managing features were unveiled for procedure. The reprocessing of irradiated thorium rods that was accomplished throughout the time period 1989 to 1992 in the concrete protected cells which was the very first leading radioactive procedure. At present there are four subdivisions which are Material Chemistry Division, Chemical facility division and Fuel Chemistry Division.
There are 2511 staff strength in the Centre which includes 1243 Engineers and Scientists. Approximately 8450 million is the total annual income of Research and Development plan and activities.
