About Intelligence Bureau (IB)

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India’s interior intelligence agency &apparently the world’s oldest intelligence agency. It was reorganized as the Central Intelligence Bureau in the year 1947 below the Ministry of Home Affairs. The cause for the perception might be coz, in the year 1885, Major General Sir Charles Mac Gregor was selected Quartermaster General & head of the Intelligence Depart. for the British Indian Army in Shimla. The objective at that time was to screen Russian troop placements in Afghanistan, dreading a Russian attack of British India thru the North-West through the late 19th century. The Bureau includes employees from law application agencies, typically from the Indian Police Service or the Indian Revenue Service and military.

In the year 1909, the Indian Political Intelligence Office was recognized in England in reply to the growth of Indian revolutionary actions, which originated to be named the Indian Political Intelligence (IPI) from year 1921. This was a state-run investigation and observing agency. The IPI was run cooperatively by the India Office & the Govt. of India &stated jointly to the Secretary of the Public & Judicial Department of the India Office, & the Director of Intelligence Bureau (DIB) in the Country, and kept close connection with Scotland Yard & MI5. Dineshwar Sharma is the existing director of IB, holding the place since 1st January, 2015.All provinces of human action within India and in the district are allotted to the agreement of duties of the Intelligence Bureau.

Applicants will be chosen based on Written Exams & Stenography skill Tests.Entitled candidates can apply online thru www.wbsetcl.in.
