Manipur TET Eligibility Criteria

Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) and the test is shortly known as Manipur TET. The test is conducted as per the formalities laid down by the central regulating authorities to endure the credibility of the test. The candidates who wish to make a career as a teacher in the government schools in the state of Manipur need to attend the Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test to become a teacher in primary classes (class I -V) and upper primary classes (VI-VIII).

Department of School Education, Manipur or concerned examination board as directed by the Government of Manipur release the notification of Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test. This test has been considered as a mandatory test conducted by the Government of Manipur to ensure the equality and quality in the field of Education. Many private management run schools are considering the score of this Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test for appointing teachers in their primary as well as upper primary classes.

National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) prescribes the qualification required by a candidate for appearing in this test. The State government may change the qualifications and eligibility criteria as per the orders issued by them. Below are the eligibility criteria one candidate should fulfill to attend for this Teachers Eligibility test in Manipur.

Qualification Teachers of Classes I-V (Paper I)

A candidate who has passed in Senior Secondary or its equivalent study with at least 45 percent marks as aggregate. Those appearing in final 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or 2 year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible to apply for the test.

Or Candidates who have passed with BA / B.Sc. with at least 50 percent marks as aggregate and a B.Ed. qualification can also apply.

Qualification Teachers of Classes VI-VIII

An Applicant having B.A or B.Sc. passed certificate and those appearing in final 2 year D.Ed. or B.A. or B.Sc. with at least 45 percent marks as aggregate and passed or appearing in B.Ed. / Senior Secondary with at least 50 percent marks as total and passed

Or a candidate appearing in final 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. Or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 percent as aggregate in BA or B.Sc. are eligible for Manipur Teachers Eligibility Test.

The Government of Manipur conducts this Teachers Eligibility Test once in every year to recruit teachers for various schools in Manipur. The Certificate validity is of 7 years from the date of award of the certificate and the candidate may use it for choosing a teaching career in Government as well Private schools within this time frame.

A candidate can appear the TET again, once attended already. And moreover there is no restriction in the number of attempts to get the certificate of TET. Even after getting a certificate, a candidates may reappear as many time they wish to improve their test score again.
