Application Fee: Candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- and Rs. 60/- for Bank charges in form of challan deposited at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI). No fee for SC, ST, Person with Disability, Female and Ex-Serviceman candidates.

Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in English with medium of Hindi Language up to degree level or Master’s degree in Hindi with medium of English Language up to degree level/ Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Law degree

About Rajya Sabha Secretariat

The Rajya Sabha which is also known as Council of States is the Senate of the Parliament of India. There are maximum of 250 members in the Constitution of Rajya Sabha and current law have provision of 245 members. The members mostly in the house is indirectly elected by State and Territorial legislatures. The President can certainly designate 12 members for their efforts to Science, art, social services and literature. The maximum year members sit for staggered are 6 years terms where we can see the number of one third of the members retiring every two years.

On 23rd August 1954 a nomenclature that has been proclaimed by the chair in the House on which has its own distinctive features. On 1918 the beginning of the second Chamber is generally traced to the Montague-Chelmsford Report. The Government of India Act, 1919 made available to the development of a ‘Council of State’ as another chamber after that legislature with a limited franchise which in fact emerged into existence in 1921.

The Chairman plays the major role in Rajya Sabha. The Prime Minister is the Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha. the present Chairman of the Rajya Sabha is Shri Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

The eligibility of a person to be qualified as the members in the Rajya Sabha are a person should be the citizen of India. A person should not be less than 30 years, should have the qualification in law subject made by the parliament. The recruitment in the Rajya Sabha differs from post to post and who possess the qualification and also should satisfy the conditions under the order for appointments.
